Tools for sharing files and collaborative editing

 Dropbox

Get a free dropbox account to share up to 2 GB of files with your students.  The Dropbox app allows them to view files you saved into the dropbox on their smartphone and also allows them to upload images directly from the app.  Imagine having your lecture notes as a PDF in dropbox and then having the students responsible for taking photos of the blackboard work you've done and uploading them to dropbox to archive and share your "offline" work.

Google Docs

Collaborate with your students for free.  Show a document to the whole class and ask them to edit or annotate it on their devices while you watch the edits appear on your computer in real-time.  You can also create a spreadsheet with a form interface to use for polling your students without needing to license one of the polling options below.

Options for audience polling

QuestionPress

Users submit responses via a web interface (that is nicely formatted for mobile devices) and the results are available via a web browser interface for the presenter to view or share.

Poll Everywhere

Users submit responses via SMS, twitter, or a web interface.  Results can be viewed in a web browser or via Powerpoint or Keynote plugin.

Socrative student clicker software.

Socrative is a free and simple tool for polling students.  You configure the polling questions via the app for teachers, or via the web at t.socrative.com, and then students submit responses via the app for students or via a web browser at m.socrative.com.  While free, easy to use and cross platform it is somewhat limited in that it doesn't support embedding images in questions or entering mathematical expressions as answers from hospedagem de sites.

Pricing

Free.  Accesible via web browser or the free app for students and free app for teachers.

Wiffiti

Users submit text and/or images via SMS, twitter or web interface.  Their responses appear in a flashy animated screen that you can present.  Unlike the other options, this isn't suitable for collecting and analyzing responses in a spreadsheet, but it is a great way to present student posts for quick and easy viewing.
